The security systems specialist IP Security has designed and installed a network video surveillance system and remote weather station in the nautical port of Cambrils (Tarragona), for which he used Panasonic cameras.

IP Security Panasonic Club Nautico Cambrils

Located in a privileged enclave on the Catalan coast, The Cambrils Yacht Club has modern facilities of more than 90.000 square meters and 417 moorings for boats up to 25 m. length, sailing school, restaurant,…which its managers have been renewing with the latest technologies in recent years to offer better services.

Upgrading the CCTV security system to an IP platform, to provide maximum protection to your clients and vessels, has been a top priority element in the company's business approach; project that they have entrusted to specialized engineering IP Security, belonging to the Grupo UN-IT Global Solutions.

Some of the requirements of the new network video surveillance system were that it be centralized in the club itself and that the distance between the camera locations be up to 500 metros, in order to maintain the environment and that the installation was clean of cables, to which was also added providing the entire port with Internet access, maximizing the technological infrastructure acquired and used for the video surveillance system to offer a new valuable service to its users..

As part of this project, The installation of a state-of-the-art weather station was also required that would offer in real time the climate data necessary for the sailors in the dock itself and could also be viewed over the Internet..

After carrying out a prior study of the installation and needs of the Cambrils Yacht Club, The solution designed by IP Security is based on the deployment of ten IP cameras (with 22X optical zoom and 360º rotation) from the company Panasonic and in the deployment of a totally wireless network infrastructure that allows expanding the services that this nautical port offers to its clients., as well as the almost unlimited possibility of scalability and reduced maintenance costs.

Specifically, IP Security has connected the three IP cameras of the nautical center building using RJ45 cable and powered by PoE, while the remaining seven networked devices distributed throughout the facility are connected through two radio links. 5 Ghz located on the roof of the club and which operate as a base station for the other links. The recording of the images in real time and the control of the cameras is carried out with a server located in the club building, which is displayed on a 32” monitor..

Through a QoS-restricted radio link (located at 300 m. from the club building), This provider offers an Internet outlet, as well as a WiFi zone at the venue. Besides, provides real-time meteorological data both on the Web and to clients of the nautical port of Cambrils. The solution deployed allows its managers to increase value-added services to their clients in the future., such as IP telephony or remote monitoring of your vessels, inter alia.
